About Sweetwater Boatworks

Every wooden boat deserves
special consideration and attention

Sweetwater Boatworks is located in New London, CT. 

We service all manner of vessels: sail, power, commercial and private. We can accommodate vessels up to 45’ in our facility and are available to work on site for larger vessels or for situations that require it. We prefer to work closely with our clients to exactly meet their specifications, but are fully capable of running a complete project for the hands off owner.

Our boat builders are formally trained at the Landing School in Kennebunk, ME, the Apprenticeshop in Rockland, ME and the International Yacht Restoration School (IRYS) in Newport, RI.  Additionally, they are all artisans with extensive hands on experience in all facets of wooden boat construction, repair and restoration.

We’re committed to working with you on a personal level, to create a lasting business relationship. We are proud to bring a combination of formal training, experience and artistic ability to our craft. We provide quality craftsmanship using proven traditional methods and the finest materials.
